Five on a Friday {Easter Edition}

Happy Good Friday everyone! Hope you have some amazing plans over the long Easter weekend - we have been preparing for Easter and doing lots of fun things already this week!

ONE - I packed away the pine cones and autumn/winter candles and decorated with gorgeous pastel spring colours for Easter!

TWO - The kids had a fantastic time at Marsh Farm which is a local animal park - feeding the animals, going on the rides and the easter egg hunt was a big hit!

THREE - Our local garden centre had a Mad Hatter's Tea Party - the kids had a great time painting the roses red, playing flamingo croquet with the queen of hearts, an easter egg hunt with alice in wonderland characters followed by a yummy tea party!
FOUR - Zack and I went with some of his friends from school to Nevendon Manor for the Wizard of Oz - Finding Toto event - during this amazing event the kids go with Dorothy through different scenes telling the story of the Wizard of Oz - it truly is a magical event and the kids were completely in a world of make believe!
FIVE - This morning I have blood for the first time, I was really nervous but everyone was so lovely and the donation only took a few minutes - It got me thinking that on Good Friday Jesus gave his blood for our lives and today I donated blood which will hopefully used to save someone life.

Mother's Day {2016}

I had the most amazing Mother's Day this year!

I was was woken up in the morning by these 2 cheeky monkeys excited to give me their presents.
The boys made the most beautiful cards at school
Zack's school had a Mother's Day shop - its such a fantastic idea you give the children a few pound and they can choose their own gift for their mums - Melts my heart that he choose this for me!

More lovely gifts - my favourite flowers - Tulips, mini bottle of champagne and chocolates!
I enjoyed a delicious mimosa breakfast
The weather was so lovely we spend most of the day hanging out in the garden - after bath time I snuggled down with my boys and  watched Disney's Beauty and the Beast which is one of my favourite movies

I hope you all had an amazing Mother's Day as well

Valentines Day {2017}

As Valentines Day fell on a day that Danny was working the late shift, we decided to celebrate this weekend by going out for dinner so I thought it would be fun to do a little Valentines Day lunch for the kids.

I got all all the table decorations from poundland and the glass bottles are recycled starbucks frappuchino bottles.
 I kept lunch simple - margherita pizza with heart shaped ham, cucumber & tomato kebabs and fruit
 As a little treat chocolate love birds - my friends is a rep for Chocolate for Chocoholics they have the most amazing seasonal ranges of chocolates!
The kids loved their special fancy valentines day lunch!

Prosecco Jelly Shots

I am the queen of jelly shots and every time someone has a party I am always asked to bring some along.  So when Jane asked me to make a batch for her New Year party I could not resist making prosecco jelly shots - could any thing say 'its party time' better than boozy jelly shots!

Prosecco Jelly Shots

Ingredients
1 pack of pineapple jelly
1/2 bottle of prosecco or cava
Sliced straberries
Edible gold glitter
Mini clear shot glasses

Instructions

Put the jelly cubes and a small amount of prosecco into a jug and microwave until the jelly has dissolved - leave to cool.

Once cooled top up with Prosecco and carefully pour into the shot glasses and drop in a few strawberry slices.

Refrigerate overnight.

Before serving dust with some edible glitter!

Makes about 20 jelly shots - I highly recommend doubling the recipe!

Ringing in 2017

Happy New Year!

We kicked of New Years Eve by taking the kids to see their first Pantomime -  Robinson Crusoe at the Cliffs Pavillion in Southend - the kids absolutely loved it and it was a magical performance with amazing scenery and props - the giant sea monster was spectacular! hilarious slapstick humour and brilliant songs and dancing - Gok Wan was fantastic as the Spirit of the Ocean - we have already booked tickets for this years Pantomime - Jack and the Beanstalk.
My mum had the kids overnight so we could go over to our neighbours house to celebrate the New Year - I have such wonderful neighbours and they host the most fun house parties - here are a few photos as we closed out 2016 and welcomed 2017!
Prosecco Jelly Shots!
Wishing everyone a wonderful 2017!
