Bonfire Night Party

On Saturday we had a few of the parents and kids over to ours for a Bonfire Night Party full of fun, food, drinks and fireworks.

I wanted to keep the food and drink simple so I wasn't in the kitchen all night - for the adults I did mulled wine in the slow cooker and I wanted to make something special for the kids to drink so I borrowed my mums slow cooker and made huge vat of hot chocolate with all the trimmings (plus some booze if the adults wanted a spiked version)!

I took lots of photos of the food and kids but forgot to take any photos of all us parents having fun!
For dinner I made typical Autumn Bonfire Night food - Sausages, Baked Potatoes and a Chilli (non meat version as one of our guests is veggie) together with Toffee Apple Crumble for dessert
After dinner we went out into the garden for the firework display and sparklers - all the kids loved it apart from my little Joshua who decided he would rather stay indoors watching toy story! which is why there are no photos of him.

Halloween 2016

I love Halloween after Christmas I think its my second favourite holiday.

When I was growing up Halloween was not really celebrated and you were lucky if you had a costume made out of a black bin bag but over the last few years since having the kids I have noticed that Halloween its getting bigger and better each year and I love it!

This is how we celebrated Halloween in our house this year!

Decorations

I love a seasonal display and porch!
Halloween Party

Our local garden centre hosted a Halloween Party for the kids with activities such as pumpkin carving, apple bobbing and lots of fun party games - the kids loved it!

Trick or Treating

As Halloween fell on a school night we decided to take the kids out early for trick or treat - The people in our neighbourhood had such amazingly decorated houses and were so generous to the kids that came around.

I hope you all had a wonderful Halloween!

Autumn in our House

After visiting the Pumpkin Patch I thought I would decorate the house with a few "Autumn" touches - I love the munchkin pumpkins!

The Pumpkin Patch!

Over the weekend, I took the boys to the pumpkin patch at Foxes Farm - we went last year and this year was so much bigger and better! - the kids loved exploring and picking their pumpkins out and playing in the maize maze and their was lots of photo opportunities - although I failed to get both boys looking at the camera at the same time!
