Five on a Friday {Easter Edition}

Happy Good Friday everyone! Hope you have some amazing plans over the long Easter weekend - we have been preparing for Easter and doing lots of fun things already this week!

ONE - I packed away the pine cones and autumn/winter candles and decorated with gorgeous pastel spring colours for Easter!

TWO - The kids had a fantastic time at Marsh Farm which is a local animal park - feeding the animals, going on the rides and the easter egg hunt was a big hit!

THREE - Our local garden centre had a Mad Hatter's Tea Party - the kids had a great time painting the roses red, playing flamingo croquet with the queen of hearts, an easter egg hunt with alice in wonderland characters followed by a yummy tea party!
FOUR - Zack and I went with some of his friends from school to Nevendon Manor for the Wizard of Oz - Finding Toto event - during this amazing event the kids go with Dorothy through different scenes telling the story of the Wizard of Oz - it truly is a magical event and the kids were completely in a world of make believe!
FIVE - This morning I have blood for the first time, I was really nervous but everyone was so lovely and the donation only took a few minutes - It got me thinking that on Good Friday Jesus gave his blood for our lives and today I donated blood which will hopefully used to save someone life.

Five on a Friday

Look who got their act together for Five on a Friday this week!

ONE:  Zack turned five this week - I cannot believe where the time has gone! we are celebrating this week with a magic show birthday party!
TWO:  Life has been crazy busy recently and I am trying to get myself a little more organised - I picked up this cute meal planner from Paperchase - I am hoping this might help me plan my weekly meals a little better - I shall keep you posted!
THREE:  We love cocktails in our house! - I just had to get this Rhubarb and Ginger Gin Liqueur when I saw it - think it will be lovely with some tonic or even in a trifle! - yum!
FOUR:  At our Luau BBQ party the other weekend I served Grilled corn on the cob with Chilli & Lime butter - I was going to make my own then I spotted the Lurpak Infusions range in my local supermarket and being so time poor this was the perfect solution! - It is also delicious with topped onto fish and baked in the oven with tin foil.
FIVE:  I turn the big 40 next week! I have been organising a Casino Royale Party for the last six months so our family and friends can celebrate this milestone birthday with me - I cannot wait to share the party details with you next week!

Five on a Friday

Another addition of Five on a Friday

ONE:  We have finally replaced our old white UPVC door with a elegant black composite door with light grey weatherboard and glass panel - I love how it has turned out!
TWO:  We have been off work this week so have been spending lots of time out and about with the kids.  Earlier this week we drove to Southend on Sea and had a fab day out at the sea front, visiting the Sealife Centre, fish and chips on the beach, we let the kids have a go on the 2 penny drop in the amusement arcade and paddling in the sea.
THREE: Danny and I celebrated our 8th Wedding Anniversary with a lovely dinner at our local Chinese restaurant China Kitchen.
FOUR: I have found these amazing pink lemonade Snapple drinks in the B&M store at 99p a bottle and they are amazing with a shot of vodka to sit and drink in the garden in the sunshine!
FIVE:   We have booked tickets for the Willy Wonka event at Nevendon Manor at the end of August - we had such a brilliant time at the Alice in Wonderland event they ran a few months back we cannot wait to go!

Five on a Friday

Another addition of Five on a Friday

ONE: Last Friday we attended the schools annual inflatable day.  The kids had a fun packed few hours after school playing on the various inflatables.
TWO: We celebrated the 4th July at the USA themed fair at Weald Country Park - lots of family fun with Captain America, Bucking Bronco rides and American Classic Burgers!

THREE: Zack graduated from pre school on Wednesday, feeling emotional that my little boy is going up to big school in September and Josh will be starting pre school in September!

FOUR: I love a cup of coffee in the morning and when I visited the states a few years back i brought back some flavoured ground coffee (Dunkin Donuts Hazelnut and Folgers Caramel Drizzle) and unfortunately our UK supermarkets just don't seem to sell anything similar .... one lunchtime at work I went to have a look around TKMaxx and to my surprise I found these packs of coffee - can't wait to give it a try!
FIVE: One of the mums from school has started to do Avon orders so I on my recent order I picked up a bottle of Avon Moroccan Argan Oil Leave in Treatment and I am sold on it! you just need a few squirts as little goes a long way and it makes my hair feel so soft and silky and it smells amazing and at £3.50 a bottle beats some of the more expensive brands around!
