Five on a Friday

Its time for another addition of Five on a Friday.

ONE
At the weekend I went out for a fab Indian meal at Elachi with some of the mums from school followed by cocktails at Bar Vino, such fun going out with these lovely ladies and I am looking forward to our next night out.
TWO
Check this double wick candle I picked up at the factory store for only £2.99. I love the Americana design and the smell of baked apple pie is divine.
THREE
I am really hoping that we get a bit of nice weather at the weekend - Carters Steam Vintage Fair is in Chelmsford this weekend and I would think the boys would love this!
FOUR
I watch the Theory of Everything movie the other night - absolutely brilliant movie, if you haven't seen it already I highly recommend it!
FIVE
I am super excited that in 2 weeks time we are going to Liverpool for the weekend to see a good friend of mine Elaine who I met travelling in Australia, she is coming home for a few weeks and I am sooo looking forward to our long overdue catch up.

Little Scarlet Gin Liqueur

Wilkin & Sons who locally produces Tiptree jams & preserves has teamed up with Witham based Haymans Distillery to produce Little Scarlett Gin Liqueur.

Little Scarlet is a tiny wild strawberry and is unique in the fact that only grown in Tiptree and is a difficult berry to grow which makes it an unpredictable crop - so I was very keen to try this special and exclusive to Essex liqueur.

Oh wow it tasted amazing! sweet with pop of strawberry flavour - I can't wait now for summer to get creative with the cocktails and sip them on the deck in the sunshine!

Chilled over ice with Fever Tree Tonic

Britannic Park

During the Easter weekend we took the boys to the newly opened Britannic Farm Park which is located in the White Elm Garden Centre in Bicknacre.
The kids had a brilliant time - the park had lots of animals such as pigs, sheep, goats rabbits, chickens, ducks and geese.

Many of the animals are surrounded by low fences so that you can pet them and lots of little piglets and ducks were roams freely around the park so the kids can get up close, stroke and feed them with the little buckets of food that you can buy from the ticket desk as you enter.

Zack and Josh loved the little piglets

The low fences allowed you to get up close to the animals
 Very friendly goat!

We shall definitely be visiting the park again soon - especially since we have heard that a baby goat has been born and the farmer allows the children to hold her.

Back to the 80s Party

On Saturday myself and 2 of my friends Alison and Denise were blasted back to the 80s for nostalgia filled night out.

The venue was decorated with 80s posters and neon balloons and everyone had made such an effort with their outfits - lots of backcombed and crimped hair, neon colours, lace gloves and leg warmers - 80s film and tv characters such as Danger Mouse, Ghostbusters, Top Gun, Officer and a Gentleman, Adam Ant and my favourite of the evening the Honey Monster from the Sugar Puffs ad!

Alison and myself went as 80s Trolly Dollies
Denise dressed up classic 80s - crimped wig, neon, lace gloves
My favourite costume - Honey Monster!
80s Posters
Retro sweets and Rubix cubes were on all the tables

We had a brilliant night out, fantastic classic 80s music and lots of
fun memories of this vibrant decade!

Five on a Friday

Spring is now in the air this week and so was National Fragrance day which was on Monday 21 March, so today I am sharing my 5 favourite perfumes.

Scent is something that can evoke a memory whether it be a person or a moment in time - like the smell of cut grass and suntan lotion are associated with Summer, cinnamon and orange remind us of Christmas, or the smell of baked apple pie that transports you back to your grandparents house.

When I go on holiday I like to shop in the duty for a new perfume then everytime I wear it the scent brings back memories of the trip!

Do you have any smells that bring back amazing memories? if you are going on holiday, getting married or have another special occasion - why not pick up a new bottle of perfume to remind you of your amazing day or adventure? - trust me it works!
one:  Vera Wang for Women.  I wore this perfume on my wedding day and it reminds me of our special day and our honeymoon in South Africa.  It's a beautiful romantic floral scent.
two:  Tommy Girl.  This is the first perfume my husband brought me and it reminds me of our month long trip when we travelled from LA to New York visiting all the Southern States in the US.  This is a fun, girly scent and perfect for Summer.
three: Lovely by Sarah Jessica Parker.  I am not usually a lover of celebrity fragrances but this perfume is beautiful, feminine and floral, ideal for both night and day wear.
four: Provocative Women:  I first wore this fragrance whilst travelling around Australia.  It is a Elegant, Sophisticated Oriental scent and I usually wear this perfume in the evening.
five: Coco Mademoiselle:  Another gift from my husband this perfume.  Classic,  Luxurious and Classy this Oriental scent and perfect for day or night - and every lady needs a Chanel perfume in her collection!
